Caroline's Princess party

Well, here we are in the middle of December and right in midst of Christmas celebrations, but I realized I forgot to put up pictures of sweet Caroline's Princess Party! We had so much fun celebrating our special four-year-old with some of her little friends!

Anna Kate's tooth!

Not sure how I forgot to post this back in August, but better late than never, right?!?

At our annual youth lake day, Anna Kate started to notice that her first loose tooth was becoming VERY wiggly! Our good friend Renee noticed her start to become a little concerned about it and started snapping pictures at just the right moment! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

She now has a grown-up tooth that has appeared in the missing space and she's since lost the tooth right beside it. That one she pulled all by herself! It's hard to believe our little girl is growing up so fast!

October Beach Trip

In the middle of October, we decided to join Luke's parents (Mimi and Papa) for a long weekend trip to North Myrtle Beach. Our girls hadn't seen the beach at all since summer of 2014 (and even that was only one day with cousins in Virginia), so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to spend a few days letting them enjoy the ocean and sand to their hearts content! We spent at least 2-3 hours each day out on the beach and we had beautiful weather!

Anna Kate spent most of her time in the ocean jumping waves! Luke was the bravest (the water was pretty chilly!), but I joined her a few times too!

Caroline and Eleanor enjoyed the tide pools!

And everyone had fun building some pretty neat sand castles!

Mimi and Papa joined in on the fun too!

The condos we stayed in had a lazy river too. We floated around on it a few times, but it actually felt a little chillier than the ocean since it was in the shade.

The girls had fun doing science lessons on the beach! We brought some beach field guides and worked on some shell identification. Anna Kate even found a shark tooth!

One morning we decided to go into town and walk around Broadway at the Beach. The highlight of the trip was the carousel!

The last night we were there, Mimi made a cake to celebrate Caroline's birthday a little early. Any excuse is a good excuse for cake!

And just because I love it, here's a sweet one of me and Ellie heading down to the beach!

We had a wonderful trip and can't wait to go back someday soon!

Oh...I do just have to mention...special thanks to Sam and Margo for being extremely agreeable photographers while we were there. I had these wonderful ideas in my head of family pictures on the beach with the girls in long white dresses. Easier said than done. We tried on the first day and I wasn't happy with any of them. We were never all looking at the same time! So they agreed to try again on our last day and we got a few winners! We're still deciding which ones will go on our Christmas card, though, so I'll post them later!
