November 2016

November wasn't a super eventful month in the Tolbert household, but I thought I'd share a few fun pictures anyway!

I took the girls one morning to our SC State museum because they had a Wizard of Oz exhibit! AK had just finished reading the book, and they had all watched the movie in Arkansas with cousins, so they were pretty excited!

One of their favorite exhibits at the museum is always the 19th-century schoolhouse. Here I am with my little pupils!

I say November wasn't very eventful, but we did get to vote for a new president! Our choice didn't win (and in fact never had a chance to win, really, since it wasn't one of the two major-party choices), but we still appreciated the opportunity to live in a democracy and use our right to vote to make our voice heard.

And it's a good excuse to dress in patriotic colors and go for a bike ride down to our voting site!

Eleanor looked super cute one morning in her little fall pumpkin outfit. Actually, it was Caroline's third birthday dress and had a "C" on the front of it, but I just sewed one little strip on it and made it an "e"!

We played outside a lot in beautiful weather. We raked leaves (Caroline and Ellie) and read books (AK)!

And we caught pet lizards and set them free after they'd been sufficiently petted!

We did our operation Christmas child shoeboxes and Anna Kate helped with the dedication. She was supposed to read a paragraph or two about the impact of the shoeboxes in the lives of children around the world. At the last minute, though, she couldn't find her paper. She told us not to worry, though, because she'd already memorized the whole thing "just in case!" Of course...

We went to the wedding of our good friends Chelsey and Jamie. It was super cold and windy, but beautiful!

The girls loved dancing in the old barn for the reception!

And last, but not least, we did have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I didn't take many pictures, but we had enjoyed a wonderful fall weekend in the NC mountains with Luke's family.
