4th of July in the Mountains

In my attempt to catch up on life over the past few months, one highlight I forgot to blog about was our little mini family vacation up to Luke's parents' mountain house for the 4th of July.

We went to see a horse show at the brand new Tryon equestrian center, which was amazing! And of course had to do pony and carousel rides, too!

Oh, and Eleanor liked the ice cream cones!

We also went to the Carl Sandburg house one day for an outdoor mini-musical performance of Sandburg's Rootabaga Stories. So fun!

And of course, no trip to the Sandburg house is complete without visiting the goats!

This has nothing to do with our trip really, but I also made the girls some summer nightgowns and this was the first opportunity I had to get a picture of them in them!

On the fourth, the girls made an American flag cookie cake with Mimi!

Then we all got dressed in our patriotic colors and headed to downtown Hendersonville for fireworks!

After a fun few days, the girls were exhausted and it was time to head home!
